Utonagan Puppies available now, follow this
link Diogie, is the proud Mother of the current
litter of eight lovely puppies.
Myself and my 5 lovely Utes now live in Cumbria on the Northumberland border. I
occasionally have a litter of puppies, my last litter was in 2005.
I have always admired the wolf, in my opinion it is a beautiful,
awe-inspiring yet often misunderstood creature. I first came across this breed whilst looking for an
intelligent, gentle companion for my elderly GSD. I got exactly this from Luca,
coupled with his beautiful wolf-like appearance and fantastic fun filled loveable
character. Although he will be 7 this year and is Father to many beautiful
registered Utes, he is still just a big pup who loves his cuddles and playing chase.
My alpha pair,
Luca and
Kioko (see their individual pages and my
pack page) produced two litters of pups,
who are today beautiful adults, some of whom have been used for breeding after
achieving excellent health test results themselves. All of the pups I've produced are thriving,
healthy, happy
dogs with fabulous homes, one of them, Barney- featured on my puppy update page,
is living in Hollywood USA and is owned by the Actress Ashley Jensen who is currently
causing a storm in the USA in the hit programme Ugly Betty. In each and every
one of her interviews recently she has mentioned Barney and he is clearly
spoilt rotten from the pictures I kindly received from her.
I have stayed in touch with most of the owners of my babies
and receive regular updates on their progress and photographic updates which I
include on this site, whenever I get chance. You will see that there are quite a
few who have inherited their fathers fantastic looks.
Two of my pups were purchased by families of children with Aspergers and Autistic Spectrum disorders and
have reported that the children’s ability to socialise has really been enhanced by having
this breed as they are such beautiful
sociable, friendly dogs everyone stops you to comment and enquire what breed
they are. The children became much more communicative because of the amount of interest their dogs attract and the pride they have in
talking about them.
Several of my pups and their progeny in turn have become very successful PAT (Pets As
Therapy) dogs whereby they visit hospitals, nursing homes and hospice
patients and generally brighten the day of each individual they meet with their
gentle, comical but friendly natures. In order to become a registered PAT dog the dog has to
have a good disposition and exemplary character which is clearly evident in our breed. I am
a registered, accredited breeder with The Utonagan Society (TUS) and any puppies
I may occasionally breed, are always registered with TUS and advertised on TUS website.
In my role as Breed Advisor for The Utonagan Society, I am dedicated to
improving the health and health records for the breed. I have
recently compiled TUS Health Report and TUS New Blood Report and will continue
to do everything I can to encourage all breeders and owners to keep us updated on
any health problems which may occasionally occur. I am determined that my role will help
improve all owners and potential owners knowledge of the breed, the lines and any
health matters related to these.
All TUS registered puppies are sold with a full TUS pedigree, TUS registration certificate and
membership form to join TUS. Most Breeders also provide a puppy pack,
dietary and worming advice, full lifelong advice and a weeks
supply of their current diet which will enable you to make any change of diet
you choose gradually to prevent upset tummies. They also have their first jab are fully wormed
to date and are vet checked and released with 6 weeks insurance through Petplan.
Any pups I may produce are sold as none breeding and in compliance with TUS
Breeding Code of Ethics, this restriction will not be lifted until the dog has
met all requirements and reached 18 months (male) or 2 years (female).
Anyone buying a puppy from me is required to join TUS and sign
and retain a copy of my puppy contract. In this it asks that you
provide and care for the puppy throughout the time it is with you, giving it all dietary, medical, grooming,
exercise and care it needs to remain healthy and happy for life. That if you have to re-home it you will contact me first. That you keep me updated on the health and
progress of your pup and if possible have it eye tested annually and hip scored
at 12 months of age. That you
provide basic training in order to
ensure its safety whilst off the lead, using whichever method is most
suitable for you and the pup. In the event of any queries or concerns, at any
point in time, I will always be available for advice to not only my pup owners
but all Utonagan owners alike. Though some may feel I ask a
lot from my pup owners, please be assured it is all essential so that we may
closely monitor the health of all dogs registered with TUS. Only then will
we be able to ensure the continued success and future progress of the breed. |
